Video Clip: Barry Sonnenfeld on Digital Cinema

Here's a video clip from the Wall Street Journal's D Conference (held last week in Carlsbad, California), which I think is accessible even if you're not a WSJ.com subscriber. Bruce Orwall of the WSJ interviews director and cinematographer Barry Sonnenfeld.

Sonnenfeld talks about digital intermediate, digital projection, and digital effects replacing optical effects. He says that once a digital distribution system is in place, directors may want to add special scenes to a movie several weeks into a run, to help prop up the box office. And he says he's against reducing the length of the theatrical release window. (Notably, Sonnenfeld doesn't try to plug his recent flop, `RV.')
